Señoras y señores: este blog se hace bilingüe para publicar esta noticia que me envía Ana Lartitegui.

Dear Friend,
We are pleased to inform you that ROBINSON CRUSOE by AJUBEL, a novel in
images inspired by Defoe’s classic & published by MEDIA VACA(Spain) is the
winner of the 2009 BOLOGNA RAGAZZI AWARD (Fiction).
We’ll be attending the Bologna Book Fair at booth H29 C25.

In words of the Jury...

Audaciously, Ajubel takes on the traditional marriage of text and image,
raising it to a new and higher level. What appears at first to be a
departure from tradition proves on closer inspection to be just the
opposite.
For with the captivating force of signs and colours, Ajubel has created not
merely illustrations but iconic images. The scenes that follow one after
another are a concentrate of emotion,  a phantasmagoria of anxieties, fears
and expectations.
The classic narrative is here, alive and vibrant with all the dream-like
intensity of Defoe’s original text. Ajubel’s work is also an admirable
teaching tool, as it compels us to look more selectively at our
image-saturated world.
This is a unique book that opens up new pathways for our understanding.
